    Description

Mad #34 (EC, 1957) CGC VF/NM 9.0 Off-white to white pages. A key Mad contributor came on board this issue as Dave Berg made his debut. Joining Roger Kaputnik's creator in this issue were artists Wally Wood, Kelly Freas, Don Martin, Mort Drucker, Joe Orlando, and cover artist Norman Mingo. The list of writers is a bit more surprising, with DC guy E. Nelson Bridwell and "What's My Line" guy Orson Bean penning stories. Plus, comic fans everywhere will be pleased to see a Fredric Wertham parody in the issue. Overstreet 2004 VF/NM 9.0 value = $191; NM- 9.2 value = $250. From the collection of Bobby Harmon.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
