Captain America #100 (Marvel, 1968) CGC MT 9.9 White pages. This astonishing copy had to be a bit disappointed by its 9.9 certification -- it is for all intents and purposes a perfect copy, absolutely mesmerizing to anyone fortunate enough to personally review it! Of course, a 9.9 is in pretty select company among Silver Age books certified by CGC to date -- there are a mere 30 copies of 1960s issues of all titles that have earned the grade compared to over 11,000 copies that have earned 9.8s! Captain America's origin is retold in his first eponymous Silver Age issue, which features a Black Panther appearance and art from Jack Kirby, who had co-created Captain America some 28 years previously. If you want a nicer Silver Age copy than a 9.8, the options are quite limited -- start here! Overstreet 2020 NM- 9.2 value = $975. CGC census 4/21: 2 in 9.9, none higher.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
