    Description

Amazing Fantasy #15 (Marvel, 1962) CGC VG- 3.5 Cream to off-white pages. This is the top-ranked Silver Age book according to Overstreet, over the years having overtaken Showcase #4 and Fantastic Four #1. If you were a collector of the quirky Amazing Adult Fantasy preceding this issue, you had to be somewhat taken aback by the appearance of this Spider-Man character on the cover. Hopefully, you bought the issue anyway and have guarded it ever since. If not, here's a chance for bidding on a less than stellar copy, which CGC notes has, "Small piece of tape on spine." The overall grade of VG- still makes this dynamite book enticing. Overstreet 2002 GD 2.0 value = $1,200; FN 6.0 value = $3,600.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
