Amazing Fantasy #15 (Marvel, 1962) CGC NM 9.4 Off-white to white pages. Far and away the most valuable, in-demand comic book of the Silver Age. The origin and first appearance of Spider-Man is the reason, arguably Stan Lee's greatest contribution to comicdom. With glorious colors, flat covers, sharp corners, and the tightest of spines, this copy rivals the finest we've ever seen, and, in fact, there simply aren't many Near Mint copies in existence. The first appearances of Uncle Ben and Aunt May are also here. Jack Kirby did the classic cover, and Steve Ditko began his legendary tenure as Spidey's primary artist. Overstreet 2019 NM- 9.2 value = $405,000. CGC census 3/20: 6 in 9.4, 4 higher.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
