Description
Zap Comix #0 Cover Proof, Don Donahue File Copy (Apex Novelties, 1967). Even though it is number zero, this issue came out after number one. The story goes that the editor of an Underground newspaper called Yarrowstalks was going to print Zap for Robert Crumb, but he took off with the art. Dismayed, Crumb drew another comic and found printer Don Donahue to publish it. That became Zap Comix #1. Then Crumb found copies he had made of his art for the first book. When they printed it he made it number 0. This is an unused first printing cover that is in Near Mint condition. A unique, and tough, Crumb collectible! From the collection of Apex Novelties founder Don DonahueMore information about Zap Comix, and Zap Comix 1967 #0 Comic Title.
