Twenty Drawings by S. Clay Wilson Portfolio (Abington Book Shop, 1968). For fans of Zap Comix wildman S. Clay Wilson, here's something close to being a "holy grail" -- the nearly impossible-to-find portfolio put together by Charley Plymell, back when both the artist and Beat writer (and printer of the first issue of Zap) and Wilson were both still living in Kansas. Well, Toto you're sure not in Kansas here! This is the notorious portfolio of drawings that caught Robert Crumb's eye, and ushered in Steven Clay Wilson to the world of Underground Comix. The portfolio was originally issued with one of four different small prints (this one is the "Motorcyclist") on a grey folder, with twenty B&W prints inside, on 14" x 11" paper. The grey folder was printed on unstable paper stock, and is rarely found without damage; this one is rather tattered with edge and spine tears, but the 20 plates inside are in Excellent condition. The price and copyright sheet originally inserted in all copies is included. Fogel's Underground Comix Price Guide GD 2.0 value = $800; FN 6.0 value = $2,400.
