Description

The Zap Show #1 - Memorabilia Poster (Apex Novelties, 1968). This poster promotes the first Zap Show, a gallery showing in San Francisco offering the chance to meet the artists and see the art up close. This poster was published during the same time period as Zap Comix #2, which was the first issue to include additional artists (issue #1 was a Robert Crumb solo affair). The poster itself is a jam which features Rick Griffin, S. Clay Wilson, Victor Moscoso, and Crumb, all working together and riffing on each other's styles! Very few of these posters were printed, making this a very desirable piece for the Underground collector. The Zap Jam quickly became a tradition, and this is far and away the rarest of all the Zap Jam Pages -- it's even tougher to find than Zap Comix #1! It's matted to an overall size of 19.5" x 25.5", and the poster measures 14" x 21". This never-folded poster remains in Excellent condition.
