Description

Gothic Blimp Works #4 (The East Village Other, 1969). An audacious experiment in Underground Comix, Gothic Blimp Works lasted for eight taboo-busting issues as a precursor/parallel to the ZAP Comix scene and interrelated titles of the 1960s-70s. Surviving copies are rare in any condition -- owing to the fragility of the pulpwood newsprint and the easily crimped and folded tabloid format. A sister publication of the wild-at-heart East Village Other newspaper, this issue contains work by such essential Undergrounders as Manuel "Spain" Rodriguez, Trina Robbins, Kim Deitch, Jay Lynch, S. Clay Wilson, Vaughn Bodé, Steve Stiles, Roger Brand, Michael Kaluta, and more. The center-folded, age-toned.
