Description
Gothic Blimp Works #1 (East Village Other, 1969) Condition: VF-. This unusual publication was basically a Sunday Comic Section for Underground fans, featuring the best of the current crop of UG cartoonists. Vaughn Bodé was the editor of this first issue, and he managed to rope in the biggest name in the business to do the cover and inside color two-pager -- namely, Robert Crumb. Also appearing inside: Jay Lynch, S. Clay Wilson, Spain Rodriguez, Joel Beck, Kim Deitch, Art Spiegelman, and more. This copy is a beautiful unfolded example, with just the tiniest bit of soiling on the front cover, and a "connect the dots" feature on page 3 worked in blue ink.
