Gilbert Shelton - Poster for Set Your Chickens Free (No Publisher, 1974). Did you know that Gilbert Shelton, of The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers fame, wrote a movie based on his "Set My Chickens Free" strip in the Feds 'n' Heads Underground comic? Did you know that this highly sought-after cult classic is practically impossible to find? Or that it starred Earl Pillow? Why of course you did! You also know how badly you want this cool promotional poster, advertising a showing at the legendary Bucktown Pub (home to the Underground Hall of Fame awards) in Chicago! It's a real mind-blower, drenched in trippy colors and crazy images. It's even signed by Shelton (who doesn't give autographs very often), in silver ink, no less! And with a measurement of 17" x 22", this will fill that blank area on your wall very nicely! Except for the least little bit of damage along the upper left corner, this is in excellent condition.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
