Foo #3 Original Edition (Animal Town Comics, 1958) Condition: VG/FN. Third and last issue of the Crumb Brothers self-published comic. There were plans (and cover art) for issues #4 and 5, but after dismal attempts to sell what they had, Charles virtually gave up the comic book business. The boys even went door-to-door selling these, telling people it was for a school project, but for the most part, the only copies that went out were those mailed to friends and fellow fanzine producers (and in 1958, there were only a small handful of EC-inspired 'zines out there). Charles' cover reflects his love of Walt Kelly artwork. Robert Crumb contributed two stories. This book has what appears to be some smoke discoloration (or perhaps a severe dust shadow) on the covers and page edges, but is otherwise a solid copy. It's only the second copy of #3 offered to date by Heritage. Not listed in Fogel's or Overstreet.
