Weird Tales - May-June-July 1924 (Popular Fiction) Condition: FN+. This fantastic triple-sized, 196-page issue marked the magazine's first anniversary, and includes the memorable H. P. Lovecraft stories "Imprisoned with the Pharaohs" (ghostwritten for Harry Houdini) and "The Loved Dead" (ghostwritten for C. M. Eddy, and so controversial that many copies of this issue were pulled from newsstands). Also includes "Tea Leaves", Henry S. Whitehead's first of many stories for Weird Tales. Bookery's lists this one as "scarce to rare", and this is the nicest of the three we've encountered (the other two grading Apparent GD and a GD/VG). The cover is exquisite, and the pages are cream and supple. Bookery's Guide to Pulps Second Edition VF value = $3,750.
