Fantastic Adventures Bound Volumes Group (Ziff-Davis, 1939-50). These file copies of Fantastic Adventures -- the bulk of series -- have been trimmed and bound into a set of 16 hardcover volumes. Included are the May (first issue, robot cover), July ("The Scientists Revolt" by Edgar Rice Burroughs), September (bondage cover), and November 1939; January, February, March, April (first Robert Bloch story to appear in the title), May (classic gorilla cover), June (first pulp-format issue), August, and October 1940; January, March, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, and December 1941; January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, and December 1942; January, February (gorilla cover), March, April, May, June, July, August (classic R. G. Jones good girl/flag cover), October, and December 1943; February, April, June, and October 1944; January, April, July, and October 1945; February, May, July, September, and November (first published sci-fi story by Margaret St. Clair) 1946; January, March, May (only Ray Bradbury story to appear in the title), June, July, September, October, November, and December 1947; January, February, March, April, May, July, August, September, October, November, and December 1948; January, February, March, April (gorilla cover), May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December 1949; and January, February, March, April (first published works by Mack Reynolds), May, June, July (classic Jones cover), August, September, October, November (first published sci-fi story by John Jakes), and December 1950 issues. The back covers of some of the older issues were removed prior to binding; otherwise, the pulps are in overall very nice condition with supple pages, glossy covers, and some instances of wear, tearing, and/or tape repairs.
