    Description

New Adventure Comics #21 Mile High pedigree (DC, 1937) CGC NM 9.4 White pages. If it weren't for Edgar Church we just wouldn't have many high-grade copies of DC's second comic book series, which started as New Comics, became New Adventure Comics, and eventually settled into the decades-spanning Adventure Comics most of us knew so well. This issue rates a Gerber "7", and CGC has only certified two other unrestored copies to date, the next highest at FN+ 6.5. Creig Flessel did the cover; interior artwork by Flessel, Joe Shuster, Vincent Sullivan, and Bill Ely. CGC notes, "From the Collection of Nicolas Cage." Overstreet 2009 NM- 9.2 value = $3,700. CGC census 4/10: 1 in 9.4, none higher. From the Gary Keller Collection.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
