Description

The Comics Magazine #1 (Comics Magazine, 1936) Condition: FR. This unusually rare comic -- redubbed Funny Pages with its sixth issue -- features the first appearance of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster's Dr. Mystic, who would later re-emerge at DC Comics as Dr. Occult. Art by Sheldon Mayer and even Walt Kelly also appears inside, packed behind a comical baseball-themed cover (on paper stock) by Vince Sullivan. The cover colors are relatively strong, as are the staples. Both bottom corners show diagonal chipping. This is a piece of early comics history! Overstreet 2004 GD 2.0 value = $1,500.
