New Comics #1 (DC, 1935) CGC VG 4.0 Cream to off-white pages. What serious DC collector could pass up the first issue of DC's second series? This is in fact the series that became Adventure Comics, one of the longest-running series in the history of comics. This ultra-early DC appeared more than a year earlier than Detective Comics #1, in fact the only two series that predate it (by any publisher) are New Fun Comics and Famous Funnies. This key debut issue is ranked among the 100 most valuable comic books by Overstreet. The cover art is by Vin Sullivan. There's a minor crack at the top left corner of the CGC casing. Overstreet 2006 VG 4.0 value = $5,850. CGC census 3/07: 1 in 4.0, 5 higher.
