Detective Picture Stories #1 Lost Valley pedigree (Comics Magazine, 1936) CGC VG/FN 5.0 Cream to off-white pages. This is the first comic book devoted to a single theme! And yes, it even beat you-know-which "detective comic" to the stands by three months. Just think how this issue stood out on the stands back in 1936, when the only other comic-book fare available was the likes of Famous Funnies, The Funnies, and More Fun Comics, all of which had a mix of gag strips alternating with adventure yarns and other features. Called "very scarce" by Overstreet. Overstreet 2009 VG 4.0 value = $1,120; FN 6.0 value = $1,680. CGC census 4/10: 3 in 5.0, 5 higher.CGC Grader Notes:
