    Detective Comics #5 (DC, 1937) CGC VG 4.0 Cream to off-white pages. Gerber rates this early, pre-Batman issue a "7" or "scarce" on its Scarcity Index. This issue hails from a time when detectives actually were the featured stars of the title. Larry Steele features began here. Creig Flessel did the rock 'em-sock 'em cover and art, and Joe Shuster contributed art to the issue. One of CGC's top five copies of #5. Overstreet 2019 VG 4.0 value = $4,000. CGC census 5/20: 2 in 4.0, 4 higher.
