Dreams of the Rarebit Fiend #nn (Frederick A. Stokes Co., 1905) Condition: Apparent VG. This early Winsor McCay book is not simply rare, it's nearly impossible to find. Overstreet's 2006 edition lists this as Very Rare, and says "Five copies known to exist." This copy has had professional restoration, including the replacement of the back cover, along with pieces added, tear seals, and color touch. The book is fully readable, and with the chances of finding a better copy slim to none, it's sure to be one of the major highlights of our Victorian and Platinum section. Overstreet 2006 GD 2.0 value: $571, FN 6.0 value = $2,000.
