Detective Comics #8 (DC, 1937) CGC GD/VG 3.0 Off-white to white pages. In 15 years of the world's greatest comic auctions, we have only offered nine blue label copies of issue #8 that features the classic Mister Chang cover by Creig Flessel. Ranked a Gerber 7 or "scarce", this is one of the first 250 or so comic books ever published, and even pre-dates Action #1. If the Flessel cover looks familiar, it was appropriated for the oddball Atomic Comics some eight years later. Considering how infrequently these pre-Batman Detectives come up for sale, don't miss your opportunity to pick up this early DC rarity! Also of note is that currently only a dozen copies out-grade this comely copy. CGC notes, "Large tear on 9th page." Overstreet 2015 GD 2.0 value = $1,750; VG 4.0 value = $3,500. CGC census 3/16: 2 in 3.0, 12 higher.
