DescriptionDetective Comics #2 (DC, 1937) CGC GD- 1.8 Cream to off-white pages. This tough-to-find issue is currently tied for the #68 spot on Overstreet's list of Top 100 Golden Age Comics. Ernst Gerber rates it a "9" or "Very Rare" on his Photo-Journal Guide to Comics' Scarcity Index. The hoodlum cover is by Creig Flessel, and following the detective theme, the issue contains the second appearance of ace detective, Slam Bradley. Superman co-creator Joe Shuster contributed interior art to the issue. CGC notes, "Spine of cover completely split & cover detached." Overstreet 2019 GD 2.0 value = $6,460. CGC census 3/20: 1 in 1.8, 12 higher.
