    Spicy Detective
    for Lady From Hell July, 1940. "Spicy" pulps were infamous for their provocative covers painted by Ward and Parkhurst. This offering is a classic girl in trouble image. The girl herself is larger in scale than is found on many other pulp cover paintings, due to her iconic pin-up pose.
    Oil on canvas mounted on masonite, framed (33 x 24), sight size approximately 29.5 x 20.5. Signed lower left.
    A color copy of the published cover is included.
