Will Eisner Studio The Spirit Section Story Page Original Art dated 8-17-52 (Register and Tribune Syndicate, 1940). From the highly touted "Moon" story arc that ran for many weeks, this page features a flashback of Spider Webbin, as he was about to meet a sad end as one of the convicts sent to explore the moon! The inks are possibly by Al Wenzel. The art for this story was split between two titanic legends in the industry... Wally Wood handled the Moon sequences with the Spirit and the convicts, while Spirit creator Will Eisner and his studio handled the flashback sequences set on Earth with some of the regular cast. This page is all Eisner Studio. Created in ink over graphite on sections of Bristol board affixed to a larger board with an overall image area of 13" x 18". There are paste-up original art and hand-lettering in every panel except Panels 4 and 5. The headline text pieces from Panels 2 and 3 are taken from a previous issue dated 7-20-52. There is glue residue from some missing paste-ups in the margins and Panel 2, and some handling wear and stain in Panel 6. The board is toned and in Very Good condition.

More Information: EDIT: Attribution changed to Will Eisner Studio, as there is no way to know exactly who did what on the page.
