    Description

Wayne Boring Superman Daily Comic Strip #8148 Original Art dated 1-28-65, Amended in 1982 (Bell-McClure Syndicate, 1965/1982). Boring, the definitive Superman artist of midcentury last, was never boring as an illustrator. His balletic action poses remain distinctive, and his compositions are chockful of dynamic tension. This installment features Clark Kent -- not his alter-ego, Superman. In 1982, Boring painted/inked over part of the strip to add Superman in flight. Ink and white watercolor over graphite on Craftint chemical-shading stock, with an image area of 16.75" x 4.75". Moderate toning and marginal punctures. Signed and inscribed at lower margin. Very Good condition.
