    Description

Walt Kelly Pogo Daily Comic Strip dated 2-19-64. (Publishers-Hall Syndicate, 1964). Kelly's amused contempt for political intrigues found an ideal voice in Congersman (sic) Jumphrey Frog, a blowhard legislator with an ego big enough for both Houses of Congress. This smart gag finds the Frog questioning whether or not Churchy LaFemme can be turned. Kelly's masterstroke was to combine the Funny Animals comic idiom with savage editorial commentary -- to lasting effect. Ink over blue pencil on Bristol board, with an image area of 20" x 5.5". In Excellent condition.
