    Description

Walt Kelly Four Color #59 "Mother Goose and Nursery Rhyme Comics" Inside Front Cover Original Art (Dell, 1942). Walt Kelly is well-known for his classic newspaper strip Pogo, but before he chronicled the goings-on at the Okefenokee Swamp, he was busy creating beautiful comic book pages like this, in Mother Goose-inspired issues of Dell's Four Color series. This inside front cover illustration to this second "Mother Goose and Nursery Rhyme Comics" issue has the old girl herself, along with Merry King Cole, and it's a real beauty. The art is in ink over graphite with an approximate image area of 12.75" x 18", and is in Very Good condition.
