Description

Vince Colletta My Love Story #9 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1957). Before he became busier as an inker of other artists' pencilled pages, Colletta had a fine reputation for lifelike and character-rich romantic imagery. And this is a first-rate example with wonderful figure work, excellent perspective, and a subtle-but-seething expression on the face of the woman on the left. Rendered in ink and white-paint highlights over graphite on 13.25" x 20" Bristol board. After the fact, someone has added low-res reproductions of the logo and all header text, as well as the lower cover caption. These have been adhered directly to the board, leaving sticky glue residue in several places. The original art board is toned, and there is discoloration on one of the women's faces. In Good condition.
