Action Comics #696 is directly tied to the "The Death of Superman" crossover, a landmark moment in DC editorial history that sent sales soaring, and on which both Guice and Rodier both worked. This title splash page has everything one could want from a cover of this historic period, showcasing Superman in all his physical majesty and resilience, along with the wonderful opportunity to see the original credits. Ink on Bristol board with an image area of 10.5" x 15.75". "Superman," the "created by" balloon, and the indicia are pasted up. Editorial notes in blue pencil.
