Jonah Jameson, in the top tier.More than a decade before Felicia Hardy would make her unforgettable debut as Marvel's most infamous cat-themed burglar, aka the Black Cat, this issue introduced the original Cat! During this formative era of Spider-Man, it felt like a new villain emerged with every issue -- the rogues gallery growing almost as fast as Spidey could swing. While the Cat didn't stick around long enough to claw his way into the upper ranks of Spidey's foes, Ditko's signature style and masterful storytelling continue to shine, making this page a timeless piece of coveted comic art.
This action-packed page from "The Claws of the Cat!" is rendered twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12.25" x 18.5", matted and mounted to foamcore board with a total area of 19.5" x 26.25". Very lightly toned, with whiteout corrections, a taped-on "Continued" paste-up in the lower margin, light spot staining between the fourth and fifth panels, production notes, and corner/edge wear. In Very Good condition.
