The X-Men (Beast, Rogue, and Iceman) agree to let Mr. Sinister take Threnody -- a mutant with the power to sense when people are dying and absorb their dying energy -- believing the supervillain will use her abilities in ways Charles Xavier would never condone, in order to help solve the emerging Legacy Virus crisis. The young mutant, making her first appearance in this issue, would soon go on to play a significant role alongside Nate Grey in the X-Man series. Ink and Zipatone over graphite on Marvel Comics Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15.25". All text is paste-up, with varying degrees of residue stains, some of which have migrated into the image area. Taped page number paste-up and handling wear. In Excellent condition.
