Neal Adams Batman #251 Story Page 13 Original Art (DC, 1973). Celebrated artist Neal Adams revolutionized the Dark Knight in the early 1970s with a landmark run that influenced many artists who came after him. On this captivating page from the heyday of the Denny O'Neil/Neal Adams run, the Dark Knight begins to uncover "The Joker's Five-Way Revenge!" A rare gem, as Adams seldom inked his own work during his tenure on Batman and Detective Comics. In fact, this is the only issue we've identified where Adams both penciled and inked every page. The art features stunning close-ups of Batman, with Panel 3 highlighting an eye-catching photo background, a seldom-used technique that Neal Adams executed with precision. The page was crafted in ink and Zipatone over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". The Zipatone has discolored to a golden hue, and a touch of the photo background is missing from the bottom right of Panel 3, leaving some residue. Production tape on the "continued next page" strip.
