John Romita Sr. and Mike Esposito (as Mickey Demeo) The Amazing Spider-Man #50 First Kingpin Story Page 13 Original Art (Marvel, 1967). Who is the Kingpin? This is the first time readers see the face of the villainous mobster who puts his master plan to control the Underworld into motion now that Spider-Man has seemingly quit. With his first appearance in this issue, a new threat has been revealed and Peter Parker will have to make a choice -- to live a normal life, as we see him enjoying with "friend" Gwen Stacy, or don his costume once again to be the hero the world needs. Romita Sr. wows on this page, not only capturing the evil exuded by Wilson Fisk, but providing gorgeous smiles from Gwen, highlighting his ability to draw flawless female faces. Twice-up scale in ink over blue pencil on Bristol board with an image area of 12.5" x 18.5". Slight toning, marginal notes/marks, graphite balloon/text guidelines, whiteout corrections, taped paste-up in the bottom margin, with light oil staining and edge/handling wear.
