Description
John Romita Jr. and Dan Green Cable - Blood and Metal #1 Story Page 25 Original Art (Marvel, 1992). This page from Cable's first solo limited series features a striking full-body portrait of the enigmatic X-Force leader as he drops in on the Mutant Liberation Front, unleashing a hail of bullets on Rusty Collins, Wildside, and Samurai (Ishiro Tsuburaya). Rendered in John Romita Jr.'s signature style, this ink-over-graphite illustration is particularly significant as it offers the only full-body depiction of this costume in existence. Although the outfit was adapted for a 5" action figure in ToyBiz's classic X-Men/X-Force line (Cable - Third Edition), the character wore it for only three pages in this issue -- and never again. All of the text within the 10.5" x 16" image area consists of discolored paste-ups, some of which have become loose over time. Additionally, there are marginal notes, whiteout corrections, two pieces of production tape at the top of the board, and minor handling wear.
