Description

John Byrne and Terry Austin The X-Men #121 Story Page 17 Original Art (Marvel, 1979). This issue not only offered the first full appearance of Alpha Flight, but also the first time the X-Men would skirmish with the newly-formed Canadian mutant team who wanted Wolverine for their own! Pictured in these hard-hitting panels are X-Members Wolverine, Cyclops, and Colossus against Alpha Flight's Vindicator (James MacDonald Hudson) and Sasquatch (Dr. Walter Langkowski), as citizens Paul, Jim, and Corey look to take shelter from the storm. While Alpha Flight's official first appearance was in the prior issue (only glimpses of the different characters were seen), this issue had a full-on battle betwen the two groups. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". Top corners are clipped, spots of production soiling, and whiteout corrections. In Excellent condition.
From the David Mandel Collection.
