Featuring seven of the most popular X-Men, all seems peaceful at Storm's wedding as Professor X, Phoenix, Cyclops, Wolverine, Colossus, and Nightcrawler look on, smiling, while the weather-controlling X-Bride's veil is lifted for a first kiss. But the tranquility of this moment is short-lived -- on the very next page, the groom is revealed to be a gruesome zombie, and the wedding itself nothing more than a nightmare! The early days of Classic X-Men are best remembered for their brand-new backup stories, featuring stunning artwork by John Bolton alongside reprints of Chris Claremont's Uncanny X-Men classics. This page is no exception, showcasing Bolton's beautifully detailed portraits and intricately hatched backgrounds. Rendered in ink over graphite on Bristol board with a 10" x 15" image area, the board is toned, with all text as paste-ups showing residue stains, along with whiteout and light handling wear.
