Jim Starlin and Al Milgrom Special Marvel Edition #15 Shang-Chi First Appearance Issue Story Page 11 Original Art (Marvel, 1973). Shang-Chi makes his very first appearance in this landmark Bronze Age issue -- and this is our first time offering a page from it! Trained from birth by his father Fu Manchu to be the ultimate living weapon and sent on his inaugural mission to kill Dr. Petrie, Shang-Chi instead witnesses Petrie's final moments with Sir Denis Nayland Smith and soon realizes his father is the true architect of evil. Born from the 1970s martial arts explosion that also produced Iron Fist, Shang-Chi quickly became a Marvel mainstay in his acclaimed series Master of Kung Fu and later vaulted into global stardom with the MCU blockbuster Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, portrayed by Simu Liu, who is set to return in Avengers: Doomsday. Ink and screentone over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". Slight toning, production oil staining, marginal adhesive residue staining, whiteout corrections, discolored screentone, blue pencil editorial notes/marks, smudging, tape over page number and "Continued..." paste-ups, discolored tape, production-trimmed edges, and minor handling wear.
