Jim Lee and Scott Williams X-Men #3 Story Page 22 Original Art (Marvel, 1991). The final story page from the last issue of Chris Claremont's historic 16-year original run on the X-Men books, commemorated with a ribbon at the bottom of the last panel. This page from the legendary art duo of Jim Lee and Scott Williams also wraps up the record-breaking opening arc of the new X-Men title. It features every official member of both the Blue Team (Cyclops, Wolverine, Rogue, Psylocke, Gambit, and Beast) and the Gold Team (Storm, Jean Grey, Colossus, Archangel, and Iceman), as well as Professor X, Moira MacTaggert, Banshee, and Forge. The dramatic debut of a signature Lee creation, Omega Red, is also teased via the "next issue" text in the blank space at the bottom of the page. And that's not all! The page is signed by the prominent creatives involved in its creation: Claremont, Lee, and Williams! Eagle-eyed X-Fans take note: the start date on the ribbon commemorating Claremont's time working on the franchise has been updated from "1976" to "1974". Claremont made this change himself, after publication, when he signed the piece to reflect the year he started creatively orbiting the mutant team; however, his first official issue as the writer wasn't until 1975 (the year published in the issue was always incorrect). There is also a second Lee signature alongside an inscription on the back of the piece. Ink over graphite and blue pencil on Marvel Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15.25". All text is paste-up; there are whiteout corrections, a taped page number paste-up in the bottom margin, smudging/light handling wear, and a discolored paste-up text correction in the final panel; otherwise, it is in Excellent condition.More information about Jim Lee.
