Jesse Santos Mystery Comics Digest #3 Tragg First Appearance Issue Story Page 10 Original Art (Western/Gold Key, 1972). Tragg buries his silver axe in the skull of Snark, the first werewolf, dropping the beast in a single stroke and discovering the fatal secret that will echo through generations. This page comes from the first appearance story of Tragg and his companion Lorn, concluding the Midnight Mysteries tale "Cry of the Dire Wolf", a primal origin that would later develop into Tragg's own Stone Age saga, Tragg and the Sky Gods. Near twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12" x 17.25". Panel 2 is stripped-in and held by tape on the back. The page presents light toning, with staining, marginal pinholes, slight puncture in top right corner, adhesive residue staining, stat page number and "The End" paste-ups, blue pencil editorial notes/marks, whiteout corrections/highlights, corner creasing, and handling wear. In Very Good condition.
