Description

Jean Giraud (Moebius) Silver Surfer, Parable #1 Story Page 6 Original Art (Marvel/Epic, 1988). When we talk about the Silver Surfer, four names come directly to our mind... Stan Lee, John Buscema, Jack Kirby, and Jean Giraud (under his alias Moebius). This superb page is from the miniseries Silver Surfer, Parable of two comics published by Marvel Comics in 1988, published in a French single volume in 1990 by Casterman under the title Surfer d'Argent. The story was a collaboration between Moebius and Stan Lee. Moebius was one of the few French authors known to fans in the United States in the 1980s, and this was his very first foray into the world of US comic books. This striking page from Silver Surfer by Moebius juxtaposes an intense action sequence with a monumental, graphic image of a towering spacecraft rising above the city. The clean linework and bold composition emphasize scale, contrast, and Moebius' unmistakable sense of visual clarity. Ink on official Marvel board with an image area of 10" x 15". A sketch in pencil is drawn on the reverse of the page. Light handling manipulation. In Very Good condition.
