Jamie Hewlett Deadline Magazine #1 Story Page 4 Tank Girl First Appearance Original Art (Deadline Publications, 1988) British comics magazine Deadline debuted in 1988, and famously introduced the most rebellious, anarchic character who would become an icon of the female punk aesthetic, Tank Girl! Hewlett's distinctive gritty and frenetic art style perfectly complemented the riot girl's irreverent, anti-authoritarian attitude, helping to solidify both the character and the artist's influential status in the world of comic art and the cult-classic movie. This Page 4 of only five pages, making it a rare collector's piece. Produced in ink and Zipatone over graphite on oversized Bristol board with an image area of 11" x 16". All text is hand-lettered paste-up, there is light toning, edge and corner wear and nicks, corner bends, some small pinholes and creasing and attached production paper on the backside.
