Description

Howard Post Anthro #1 Story Page 11 Original Art (DC Comics, 1968). Post's groundbreaking epic of prehistoric life paced the increasingly experimental nature of DC Comics as the old-line publisher evolved to attain an unprecedented freshness of approach during the 1960s-1970s. The juvenile caveman character seen here will become a key figure of resourceful heroism and poignancy. The appeal of the series was such that "we were getting subscription orders from anthropology professors," as Post once recalled, characterizing Anthro as "probably the best thing I've ever done." Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". Toned, lightly, with production-handling wear. Excellent condition.
