Description
Gonzalo Mayo Vampirella #112 Story Page 11 Original Art (Warren, 1983). On Drakulon, the rivers ran red and feeding carried no guilt. Earth is another story. Under a full moon, Vampirella surrenders to her darker instincts, lost in a true "Feeding Frenzy". It's a striking page of the Queen of Drakulon at her most dangerous, rendered by one of the definitive artists to ever capture Vampi in all her feral, gothic glory. Ink and wash over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 11.25" x 16". Two overlays are taped to the top margin, with the lower being an acetate overlay with stat text paste-ups, inked text boxes, and production tape. The second overlay on top is onion skin, with red marker, production stamps, and production notes/marks, and exhibits toning, staining, edge tearing, and creasing. The page has some warping and staining in the bottom half due to water damage, discoloration in the image areas from stat text paste-ups on the overlay, production tape in the gutters and margins, whiteout corrections/highlights, and handling wear.
