Description

Frank Miller and Joe Rubinstein Wolverine Limited Series #2 Story Page 17 Original Art (Marvel, 1982). Logan (Wolverine) leaps to defend Mariko and her husband from a Kabuki assassin on this exciting page of sword vs. claws! Wolverine was already a huge star in the Marvel Universe, and Frank Miller was riding high on his successful run on Daredevil, when Marvel announced that the Canadian mutant was going to get his own four-issue mini-series. It was an instant hit! And that is no surprise as the series was written by Chris Claremont (who was very familiar with Wolverine already), and Frank Miller (who was very familiar with the Ninja clan "The Hand") supplied the page layouts for Joe Rubinstein to finish. Artwork from this series is highly sought by collectors. This piece is signed by Claremont, Miller, and Rubinstein in the lower margin. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". The board is toned, all text is stat paste-up, the top edge and corners are trimmed. In Very Good condition.
