Description

Dave Hoover, Harry Candelario, ad Tim Dzon Excalibur #40 Story Page 19/Issue Page 25 Original Art (Marvel, 1991). Lockheed, the alien dragon, ducks out of a courtroom (where he is on trial) to perform a heroic task -- and then returns to face whatever sentence awaits. True to its fairytale origins (as an Uncanny X-Men spinoff), Lockheed's narrative arc is written in nursery-rhyme cadence -- a difficult task, well performed by author Scott Lobdell. Hoover's page composition reflects the science-fictional essence, with character designs representative of the classic Funny Animals school of comics art. Brilliant. Ink over graphite on Bristol board, with an image area of 10" x 15". Excellent condition, with light handling wear.
