story page comes from the very first comic book work ever produced
by Bernie Wrightson.At just 20 years old, he both wrote and penciled this eight-page story that ultimately got him hired by DC Comics, marking the beginning of his legendary career. Published in 1969 in Graphic Showcase #2, this beautiful piece reflects the artistic influence of Frank Frazetta on a young Wrightson, who was just beginning to develop his own distinctive style.
Expertly rendered in ink on thick, age-toned Bristol board, with an image area of 12" x 15.5". Light handling and corner wear, with edge smudging. In Very Good condition.
