Description

Barry Smith and George Klein Daredevil #51 Story Pages 12-13 Original Art (Marvel, 1969). Historic early work from the artist who redefined Bronze Age fantasy! Matt returns to the ruins of his home, shaken by a brutal fall that nearly ended his career. His call to Karen Page offers a glimmer of stability as they plan to meet. These pages reveal Windsor-Smith in his earliest Marvel phase, still echoing Kirby, yet starting to find his own approach. Within a year, this raw talent would blossom into the groundbreaking Conan art that redefined the Bronze Age. Rendered in ink over graphite and blue pencil on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". Whiteout text correction in Panel 1 of Page 12 and Panel 3 of Page 13. Light toning, trimmed corners, smudging, marginal editorial notes, and light handling wear. In Very Good condition.
From the Keif Fromm Estate.
