Description

Art Thibert Cable #1 Story Page 1 Original Art (Marvel, 1993). The first page of the first-ever Cable ongoing series! Over the Grand Canyon, Garrison "Weapon X" Kane's hover vehicle is shot down by Canaanite soldiers-an opening salvo in the brutal battle that will leave Cable's wife, Jenskot, dead and their son, Tyler, kidnapped.
Ink over graphite on Marvel Comics Bristol board with an image area of 10.5" x 15.25". The bottom margin and part of the left margin are covered by production tape. The title, indicia, and computer dialogue are all stat paste-ups, with some paste-up residue and staining. Notably, the title paste-up is placed over an earlier, unused Cable logo -- offering a rare glimpse at an original design concept for a logo that has now followed the character for over 30 years. Red guidelines, fingerprints/smudging, and handling wear as expected. Signed by Art Thibert. In Very Good condition.
