Alex Toth Adventure Comics #419 Black Canary Story Page 2 Original Art (DC, 1972). Black Canary (Dinah Laurel Lance) lies unconscious in the back of a van, a captive of Bertha Kane, who intends to use the heroine to intercept a prisoner transfer. The prisoner in question? None other than Catwoman, as revealed later in the tale. Rendered in a striking chiaroscuro style by master storyteller Alex Toth, the scene is created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". The board shows light toning, with tape residue stains in the top and bottom margins, whiteout, pinholes, editorial marks, and minor corner and edge wear.
