    Description

Steve Lightle Suicide Squad #48 Cover Joker and Batgirl Original Art (DC, 1990). The Joker returns to the scene of his most famous crime -- the shooting and subsequent crippling of former Batgirl Barbara Gordon on this cover illustration. The original crime of course was documented in that classic 1988 graphic novel Batman: The Killing Joke, making this a scary cover for fans of wheelchair-bound Ms. Gordon, now known as Oracle. In the printed version of Steve Lightle's cover, we see a hazy green image of Thinker, but in this original, the two characters are framed by a stylized Bat Symbol. With the new Suicide Squad movie in the immediate offing, this dramatic art should have many bidding suitors! The art is in ink over graphite with Zipatone shading film on Bristol board, with an image area of 9.75" x 15". Minor outer border handling wear; otherwise, Excellent condition.
