    Description

Stephen Bissette and John Totleben Swamp Thing #47 Cover Parliament of Trees Original Art (DC, 1986). The Parliament of Trees. This cover is their first appearance, and they were a big reveal for this title. It set Swamp Thing's place as a plant elemental, and at the same time, finally cleared up why the first appearance of Swamp Thing (in House of Secrets #92) was set in the early 20th century. These previous plant elementals (some from other publishers it seems) came here to root once their time had passed. Steve Bissette and John Totleben's art, combined with Alan Moore's scripts, revitalized this character into something new and exciting. Their art rivaled Bernie Wrightson's art on this character, as you can see on this fantastic key-issue cover! Produced in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 9.75" x 15". With only light handling, and minor production tape residue on the margins and back, this is in Excellent condition.
